What is Awareness

THE DICTIONARY STATES:a·ware·ness /əˈwernəs/ noun

Knowledge or perception of a situation or fact. “We need to raise public awareness of the issue.”

This begins to explain what awareness is; however, it leaves out the real world, the day-to-day and moment-to-moment understanding of what true awareness can bring to one self. Awareness can bring one into the moment in so many ways. Awareness can bring true clarity to one’s life, especially when practiced with two other items: discernment and acknowledgment. Then you have true clarity.

To be in the moment (to be present), one must be aware with out judgment or opinion. That is why if awareness is practiced with discernment and acknowledgement, there can only be clarity about what lies before you in the present.

Example: Looking at your cell phone, one might start to think it is a wasteof time, with all the Instagram, Facebook, and the other distractions on it. However, that is living in opinion and judgement, not awareness. Look at the same phone with discernment - it is made of metal, glass, plastic, wires and circuits. Add in acknowledgment—it is a tool that I get to use as I choose to use it. It is what it is. Now we have clarity through awareness. Self pity, opinion and judgement fly away.

Awareness gives you the freedom to be you in the moment, free of reaction and chaos. May you live with awareness in the new year!

Our Path

This line came to me as well as the meaning behind it while walking around waiting for the eclipse to happen in the Valley of the mountain Borah, ID. There is so much to this very simple statement. I hope you find your own meaning in it. Namaste

“You will get to your destination faster if you walk a straight bath however you might not arrive in a state of being to really embrace it and get the most our of your destination by taking the easy way there.”

Social Media

I was thinking about my Papa and my dad, men not from the same family,
what they might say about social media such as facebook, twitter,
instagram and the like. Papa and my dad I think would say, "Good if it
informs you and/or entertains you however for every minute you spend on
it spend 3 minutes reading. My dad would add read something that informs
you or you are passionate about. My dad always read what he was
passionate about, hunting or guns.

I will start putting my three to five minutes for every minute I waist,
sorta, on social media. My choice is to read what I am passionate about
and what fills me with joy. Sometimes reading to just check out of this
world and into another for a bit fills me with joy. Almost as much as
reading more about what I am passionate about, CranioSacral Therapy and
how I can continue to grow as a practitioner. This is so I can continue
to help other more and more! Thank you Papa and Dad for coming into my
thought and reminding me of what an import use of my time is. Namaste

The Gift

The Gift!

I was at a Reiki Master circle not to long ago and was, profoundly, reminded of something I have heard many times as well as have shared with people.

It was a very busy day for me and making it to the circle was a just in time happening. I like getting to these things early so I can take a moment to decompress from the day before it starts, however not today.

We had a twenty to thirty minute discussion before getting on the tables to share Reiki with each other. My epiphany happened when I put my hands on the person I was sharing Reiki with. She was on the table first and I was the practitioner.

All of a sudden I arrived in the room with a personal bang, in my body and mind. The rooms sounds, soft as they were, came alive as well as the energy in the place. Other Reiki masters were getting into their respective places, either on the tables or around the tables to share Reiki.

Being in the moment all of a sudden, everything just flooded in with such intensity. Sound, smell, feelings, touch, and energy of the place as well as my own. That I was so humbled by it and reminded of my place in all of the universe. The Gift once again was shared with me in its fullest affect.

What is this gift you ask and how can it be so impactful? The gift is being in the moment and experiencing everything it has to offer and appreciating it for what it is. Being truly in the here and now and observing it with all of my senses brought me to tears of joy as well as filled me with gratitude of just being.

There is a reason it is a gift and it is called what it is. It is being in this very moment being "PRESENT"!

Peace and Respect

We as a society have been taught to find peace and respect outside of ourselves. The truth is we can only find peace and self respect within ourselves. When we look within with open eyes and true unconditional love for self, then, and only then can we find what we are looking for. Enjoy your journey and be kind to yourself. Namaste

Day 5: Magic Money

"Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty."
Christian Science Hymnal

If there's a lack of money in your life, understand that feeling worried, envious, jealous, disappointed, discouraged, doubtful, or fearful about money can never bring more money to you, because those feelings come from a lack of gratitude for the money you have. Complaining about money, arguing about money, getting frustrated about money, being critical of the cost of something, or making someone else feel bad about money are not acts of gratitude, and the money in your life can never improve; it will worsen.

Day 4: Magical Health

"The greatest wealth is health."
Virgil (70 BC-19 BC)
Roman poet

Health is the most precious thing in life, and yet more than anything else, we can take our health for granted. For many of us, the only time we think of our health is when we lose it. Then the realization hits us: without our health, we have nothing.

Day 3: Magical Relationships

Imagine if you were the only person on Earth; you would have no desire to do anything. What would be the point in creating a painting if no one could see it? What would be the point in composing music if no one could hear it? What would be the point in inventing anything if there was no one to use it? There would be no reason to move from one place to another because wherever you went would be the same as where you were - no one would be there. There would be no pleasure or joy in your life.
